On April 8–9, 2026, students from class 4a of Zespół Szkół Administracyjno-Ekonomicznych participated in a series of legal workshops on constitutional law held at the School of Economics. The event formed part of the educational initiative “Academy of Constitutional Law,” organized by the Institute for Public Debate.
The workshops aimed to introduce young people to the fundamental principles of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland and to demonstrate how constitutional rights and freedoms influence everyday life. Organizers emphasized that the Constitution should not be seen as a distant or abstract legal text, but rather as a practical instrument protecting citizens and democratic values.
The sessions were conducted by respected legal experts, including Andrzej Skiba and Tomasz Solarski. Through interactive discussions and practical examples, the speakers explained complex constitutional issues in an accessible and engaging way.
During the workshops, students explored topics such as civil rights, the separation of powers, democratic institutions, and the rule of law. The participants actively engaged in debates and case studies, developing their critical thinking and civic awareness.
An important aspect of the workshops was the connection between the democratic principles of the Polish Constitution and the fundamental values of the European Union outlined in Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union. Students discussed how values such as human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the Rule of Law, and respect for human rights constitute the common foundation of both the European Union and modern democratic states, including Poland. This perspective closely relates to the objectives of the European Values and Migration Project, which promotes education on European citizenship, democratic participation, and shared European values in the context of contemporary social challenges, including migration and intercultural dialogue.
The initiative provided students with valuable knowledge about democratic principles and highlighted the importance of active citizenship and legal education in contemporary society.
